Oladele told newsmen, in Ilorin on Wednesday that it was necessary that parents learnt how to discipline their children without use of aggression and force.

According to him, physical attack on children may lead to injury, scar and emotional damage.

“Children maybe naughty and rude at times, that should not be matched with aggression from the  parents, guardian or teachers.

“Stop using heavy objects to attack them. You can correct and punish them in another way without necessarily hitting them.

“It is very dangerous to consistently hit your children with heavy objects all in the name of provocation.

“It may lead to loss of body parts such as limbs, eye sights and ears. We need to be careful,” he said.

The Cleric, however, advised parents to be good listeners to their children and stop beating them for every mistake they made.

“Listen to them when they want to share something with you. Don’t push them away, don’t be too harsh on them,” he said.
