Muyiwa Awoniyi, the manager of top Nigerian music stars Tems, Omah Lay (Stanley), and Lekan, has firmly spoken out against the growing wave of online disrespect targeted at his artistes.
In a clear and strongly-worded post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Awoniyi warned that while he remains unfazed by personal insults, any form of attack against his clients will not be tolerated.
“Said it before and I’ll say it again. Insulting me? I’m fine with it. But if you insult Temi, Stanley or Lekan? We will have a problem. ‘Till next time, bye for now,” he wrote.
This statement comes shortly after Tems publicly addressed critics who have spent years fixating on her physical appearance, especially her body.
The Grammy-winning singer took to social media to express her exhaustion over persistent comments and unsolicited opinions about her physique.
She stated that her body is not up for public discussion.
Awoniyi’s post not only reinforces his commitment to shielding his artistes from negativity but also highlights the increasing pressure public figures face in dealing with cyberbullying.
Also, Muyiwa Awoniyi stance underscores the importance of mental health and boundaries in the entertainment industry, especially for artistes constantly in the spotlight.
