A hired disciplinarian, Felix Ezike, has been paraded by the Lagos Police Command for allegedly stabbing one 19-year-old Deji Animashaun to death in Lagos.

The incident occurred at about 4:30pm on August 28 in Ikotun-Egbe area of the state.

The deceased father, Dada, had reportedly invited Ezike to discipline his son for stealing and refusing to take to corrections.

According to reports, Deji had resisted Ezike’s efforts as well, leading him to pull out a jack knife and stabbed the teenager in the head and body.

Deji was rushed to the hospital after collapsing, but he succumbed to his injuries.

Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said the father and the disciplinarian had been arrested, adding that the deceased’s corpse had been deposited in the mortuary.

Elkana stated, “On August 28, 2020, around 4.30pm, one Dada Animashaun, of Rasheed Bello Street, Egbe, Ikotun, allegedly invited one Felix Ezike, 27, to his house to discipline his son, Deji Animashaun, 19, for stealing and becoming defiant.

“In the process, the son resisted the punishment and was stabbed with a jack knife in the head and body by the said Felix Ezike. Consequently, the boy collapsed and was taken to hospital for treatment, where he later died. Our detectives have visited the scene of the incident and the corpse was evacuated to the IDH Morgue in Yaba for autopsy.

“Meanwhile, the boy’s father and the said Felix Ejike have been arrested and exhibit recovered. Homicide detectives of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, are discreetly investigating the matter.”
