Music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has reportedly been placed on suicide watch following his arrest in New York on Monday, September 16, 2024.
The 54-year-old star has been charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Combs, who pleaded not guilty, is currently being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center after being denied bail twice.
His legal team proposed a $50 million bond, electronic monitoring, weekly drug tests, and the surrender of his passport, but the court remains concerned about potential witness tampering.
Judge Andrew Carter cited the “danger of obstruction of justice” as the main reason for rejecting the bail request.
The case, which has drawn significant attention, is expected to proceed with Combs facing a minimum of 15 years in prison if convicted, with the possibility of a life sentence.
Diddy has been placed on suicide watch as a precautionary measure due to his mental state following the arrest.
His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, revealed that Combs is currently receiving treatment and therapy, though no further details were provided due to confidentiality concerns.
