Delta Police Reacts To Video Of DJ Accusing Officers Of Theft

The Delta state police Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, has reacted to a trending video of a man who identified himself as “DJ young” accusing some officers attached to the Ebrumede Division, Warri Area Command in the state of extortion.

In the viral video, the man claimed he was at a party to carry out his duty when the police officers stormed the venue to carry out a raid.

He said the whole place became rowdy as guests took to their heels in order not to get arrested.

DJ Young mentioned that his girlfriend who runs a POS business was at the party as well.

In addition, he said that his girlfriend in fear took to her heels as well and that while running, the bundle of cash with her totaling N200, 000 fell out of her bag,

Also, he mentioned that he saw the money and informed the officers that it belonged to his girlfriend.

However, he noted that the officers confiscated the money and asked him to tell his girlfriend to see them for identification and release.

Furthermore, he noted that he immediately alerted her and when she came, the officers refused to give her the money and turned around to start assaulting him and even told him that he should be thankful that he was not picked up.

The DJ lamented that he was arrested and detained for a night and thereafter let out after collecting bail.

Delta Police Confiscated Money?

DJ Young said the officers have refused to release the confiscated money.

Furthermore, he alleged that the officers also carted away some money found in his girlfriend’s bag.

In a statement released, the spokesperson of the Delta command, SP Bright Edafe, said the state Commissioner views such allegations with utmost seriousness and unequivocally states that any form of abuse or unprofessional conduct by police officers will not be condoned under any circumstances.

“To this end, the CP has directed an immediate and thorough investigation into the incident.
