Los Angeles judge has ruled that rapper DDG can visit his 18-month-old son, Halo, in Italy but only under strict conditions.
The court mandated that a neutral, professional monitor must be present during the visitation.
This marks the latest development in the ongoing custody battle between DDG and singer-actress Halle Bailey.
The decision follows a June 24 court appearance in which DDG and his legal team requested permission for an overseas visit.
Halle Bailey remains in Rome for a two-month film shoot.
Halle Bailey currently has temporary sole custody of Halo.
During the hearing, DDG’s attorney, Larry Bakman, proposed that the rapper be allowed to see his son under the supervision of his mother.
However, Bailey’s lawyer, Jeremy Lane, objected, arguing that DDG’s mother had previously enabled some of the behaviours cited in Bailey’s initial custody petition, which included allegations of abuse.
Judge Latrice A.G. Byrdsong ultimately ruled that the visitation may proceed but only with a neutral, court-approved monitor present.
She also instructed DDG not to share any photos or videos of the child on social media during the trip, if approved.
Both parties are now working to arrange a professional monitor in Italy who meets the court’s requirements.
The matter will be revisited at the next hearing, scheduled for Thursday, June 26.
This ruling adds another layer to the highly publicised legal dispute that began earlier this year when Bailey filed for custody.
He cited safety concerns related to DDG’s alleged behaviour.
