Cristiano Ronaldo dedicated his winning goal in Al-Nassr’s 2-1 AFC Champions League victory over Al-Rayyan to his late father, José Aveiro.
Ronaldo’s goal came in the 53rd minute as he celebrated by pointing to the sky in a heartfelt gesture. “Today’s goal has a different flavor… I wish my father was alive because today is his birthday,” Ronaldo said after the match, his voice filled with sentiment.
“This goal is for him,” he said, his eyes shining with emotion.
Christian Ronaldo scored his seventh goal in eight matches across all competitions.
“I’m happy to have scored, but the most important thing is the team’s victory,” Ronaldo added.
