I Sat For JAMB Five Time- Crayon

Crayon, a Mavin Records artist, has revealed that he took the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) five times before breaking into the Nigerian music industry.

During an interview on Sunday August 28, Crayon recounted how he struggled to gain admission to a tertiary institution before delving into music, adding that his failed attempts to get into a university were not his fault.

He stated, “It’s been amazing and beautiful to see because I’ve worked for years and am finally getting the recognition that I deserve.”

“It’s beautiful to see (recognition) among my fans, team, and everyone who knows me personally.”

“I officially began making music in 2016.” I wasn’t in school at the time, but I was trying to get into university. I took the JAMB exam five times.

“I failed the first two times, but passed the remaining three.” I kept going to the school to complain and inquire, ‘What’s up?’ It wasn’t just happening for me,” he said during the show. “I believe it was God’s way of rerouting me.”
