*Says evacuation to commence Wednesday
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, on Monday, said that about 4,000 Nigerians are eager to come back home even as the government are confronted with several challenges.
Speaking during the daily briefing on COVID-19, Onyeama said that one of their biggest constraints was quarantine capacity.
“There are almost 4,000 Nigerians wishing to come back home. There are various constraints on us, the biggest one is quarantine capacity (in hotels) for when they arrive. So we will have to do it in batches.

“Evacuation flights for Nigerians will commence Wednesday this week—an Emirates flight from Dubai to Lagos. Will be followed by a BA flight on Friday, London to Lagos. All will be mandatorily quarantined in hotels and monitored for 14 days.
“The Presidential Task Force has mobilized 3,300 informants, through the WHO Polio Programme, for house-to-house #COVID19 search campaign.
“More than 25 ambulances donated by @cacovidng, BUA, ADF while additional 20 Rapid Response Teams (RRT) across Kano State to reach people who need to be tested for #Covid19
“Deployed technical staff – 41 NCDC staff and 17 WHO staff at the moment – to support the Kano Response. With the support of partners, funded 2 facilitators per Kano LGA; and will be Setting up 1 sample collection centre per LGA.”
