150 returnees from Cote d’voire into Ejigbo in Osun State were on Saturday, quarantined and being subjected to the Coronavirus test.
The State Government disclosed that the development is part of measures to check the spread of the pandemic COVID-19 in the state.
The state indigenes were earlier blocked from entering the country at an Ogun state border town before Osun government intervened and brought them into the state.
However, the Secretary to the state government, Prince Wole Oyebamiji had on Friday issued a statement that the state would not abadoned its indigenes at the border town.
The returnees, who were currently being held at an isolation centre in Ejigbo would be tested for the virus before they would be allowed to join their families.

“The State Government shall convey these members of its citizenry to Ejigbo, where they hail from. They will be screened in this place before rejoining their families, if certified free of the corona virus.
We hereby urge other citizens our state that are currently out of the country, to stay put in their countries of residence, as it is generally hazardous for persons to relocate in these trying times. Moreover, the Government may be shutting our own land borders soon and may therefore not be able to retrieve such returnees from the borders of other states if they are denied passage”, Oyebamiji added.
The state government added that its isolation centres are equipped to attend to any eventualy.
A renowned medical practitioner, Dr. Simeon Afolayan, who retired from service many years ago said both serving and retired Medical personnel are working together to ensure the virus is contained.
