Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja has found suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan guilty of contempt of court.
The ruling was delivered on Friday, July 3.
The court stated Kogi Central lawmaker violated a standing court order by publishing a satirical apology directed at Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
According to earlier reports, Akpoti-Uduaghan had, on April 7, shared the controversial post across her social media platforms.
The court found that her action undermined a gag order previously issued to the parties involved.
Also, the court interpreted the post as a mockery of its directive.
As a consequence, Justice Nyako ordered the senator to issue a formal apology to the court
The formal apology should be posted two national newspapers and on her Facebook page within seven days
Additionally, she was fined 5 million Naira.
Court emphasisies that the contempt arose from a civil matter.

Although the contempt proceeding was initiated by Senate President Akpabio, the court declined to grant any direct relief in his favour.
