Community Shield: Four Arsenal's players quarantined over Coronavirus fear

Ahead of this weekend’s Community Shield, Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta’s preparation has been disrupted following four players returning late to training after self-isolating on possible fear of contracting Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Gunners will play Liverpool in the season’s traditional curtain-raiser game tomorrow (Saturday).

But Arteta says “it’s not an ideal moment to play”, with some of his players having been in quarantine.

Goalkeeper Emilano Martinez, who impressed after the restart following Bernd Leno’s injury, has been self-isolating following a holiday in Portugal.

The Argentine is free to play on Saturday and could lose his place to Leno.

Gabriel Magalhaes is also self-isolating, after joining the club from Lille.

The 22-year-old is in quarantine in the UK, as he waits to complete a £25million transfer from Lille.

Two more unnamed players are also self-isolating.

The new Premier League campaign does not start until September 12.
