
US-based Nigerian content creator and skit maker, Adesokan Emmanuel, widely known as Shank Comics, has stirred controversy after describing Nigeria as a highly “toxic” environment.
The fast-rising comedian, who relocated abroad a few months ago took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to vent his frustration about the state of the country.
In his candid post, Shank wrote:
“Nigeria is too too toxic man. Sickening.”
His blunt declaration ignited a flurry of mixed reactions online.
While some fans sympathised with his sentiment, many others criticised him for turning on Nigeria so soon after relocating.
One X user fired back:
“You never even reach 6 months for that side, u don dey enter us.”
Shank, unfazed by the backlash, doubled down on his opinion with a simple but firm response:
“No jor. I’m serious.”
Though Shank didn’t go into detail about what triggered the outburst.
