
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca will not be on the sidelines for the team’s upcoming home clash with Everton, having received a one-match suspension from the Football Association after accumulating three yellow cards.
The 45-year-old Italian received his latest caution for his animated celebration following Pedro Neto’s stunning stoppage-time goal, which secured a 2-1 victory over Fulham on Sunday.
That win moved Chelsea into fifth place the last qualifying spot for the Champions League edging ahead of Nottingham Forest on goal difference, although Chelsea has played a game more.
Maresca’s earlier yellow cards this season came during matches against Newcastle and Bournemouth.
He will be eligible to return for Chelsea’s next fixture, a home match against Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
In his absence, assistant coach and ex-goalkeeper Willy Caballero is expected to take charge from the touchline for Saturday’s game against Everton at Stamford Bridge.
