Chelsea has announced the signing of experienced Brazilian Center Back, Thiago Silva on a free transfer.
The former Paris St-Germain defender became a free agent after playing the last game of his Parisien contract in a 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich in Sunday’s UEFA Champions League final.
Silva has been capped 80 times by Brazil, and has played 510 club-level games in a career large key spent in Italy with AC Milan, and France with PSG.
His addition was hailed by Chelsea’s chief negotiator, Marina Granovskia, as helpful to the club and to its younger defenders.
She said, “Having performed at the highest level for many years, we have no doubt his experience and quality will complement the many exciting talents we already have here.”
