An Indrive cab driver, Frances Njoku, has threatened to take legal action against popular Nigerian actress, Adunni Ade, after a heated dispute over the delivery of her package
The altercation began on September 18, 2024, when Adunni Ade took to Instagram.
She accused the driver and the ride-hailing platform of unprofessionalism.
She claims that Njoku had absconded with her package and was unresponsive to her calls.
Her post quickly went viral.
This prompt an outpouring of support from her followers, who also criticised Indrive for the incident.
Later that night, Adunni Ade provided an update.
She announced that her package had finally been delivered after Indrive locked Njoku’s profile in response to the complaints.
However, the matter escalated further when, on September 19, Adunni Ade posted a series of screenshots on Instagram.
The screenshot detailed her interactions with Njoku and her fashion designer, who had initially sent the package.
The screenshots revealed an angry response from Njoku, who felt wronged by the public backlash.
In one message, he accused the actress of damaging his reputation and threatened to sue her for defamation.
“You have made nonsense of my image and I have contacted my legal team, and we’ll see you in court,” Njoku wrote.
He further demanded that Adunni Ade issue a public apology and ensure that the post be removed from Instablog, where it had gained significant traction.
“Many human rights activists and lawyers have called me, and I won’t let it go that way. You must render an unreserved apology,” he added.
In her defense, Adunni Ade shared more details about the situation.
She asserted that she had been honest throughout the ordeal and had merely sought accountability for what she believed was unacceptable service.
She explained the context behind the screenshots, reiterating that Njoku was at fault for the confusion and delay.
