Singer Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has achieved a significant milestone, becoming the African artiste with the highest-grossing tour in Canada.

According to a post by Touring Data on June 13, 2024, Burna Boy grossed $5.7 million from 69,219 tickets sold across six concerts during his ‘I Told Them’ tour in Canada.

This achievement sets a new record for African artistes in the country.

In addition, Touring Data reported that Burna Boy’s concert at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood on March 12, as part of the ‘I Told Them’ tour, recorded the highest average ticket price for an African artist, at $172.76.

Earlier this year, Burna Boy made history as the first African artist to headline and sell out the 19,000-capacity Scotiabank Arena in Canada, with back-to-back performances on February 24 and 25, 2024.

This accomplishment underscores his prominence on the global music stage.

Burna Boy also became the first African artist to perform at the Grammy main ceremony, joining 21 Savage and Brandy for a rendition of his hit single ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World.’

Additionally, at the 66th Grammy Awards, Burna Boy broke new ground as the first Nigerian artist to receive a nomination outside the global categories.

His track ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ was nominated for Best Melodic Rap Performance, further cementing his international acclaim.
