He secures the No. 99 spot, over four decades after its release.
The legendary track’s resurgence follows a high-profile nod from Afrobeats heavyweight Davido, who recently unveiled his fifth studio album, 5ive.
Davido publicly cited him as the creative spark behind his new hit With You featuring Omah Lay.
Their musical connection began with a simple video call.
The meeting blossoms into an in-person meeting in Lagos that quickly made the rounds on social media.
In the viral clips shared on Monday, May 19, 2025, Davido is seen joyfully hosting Bright Chimezie.
He hails his musical influence and expressing deep admiration for his iconic sound.
But the reunion wasn’t all fanfare, according to close insiders including nightlife mogul Cubana Chief Priest, the visit also had a creative purpose.
