The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, today visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
At the conclusion of his meeting, he quashed speculations of a return to the All Progressives Congress as he told journalists attached to the Villa that it would be wrong for him to rejoin the party.
Obaseki had emerged victorious in last Saturday’s Edo state gubernatorial election, defeating All Progressives Congress’ candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, while flying the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party.
He left the APC following disqualification at the primaries, and a famous clash with former party Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
Obaseki attended the meeting with deputy, Philip Shuaibu, their spouses and lawmakers from the state.
