Gunmen invade three villages in Oyo, killed 3

No fewer than three persons have been confirmed dead, as unknown gunmen invaded three villages in Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Sources from the community told iBrandTV that the attackers were Bororo Fulani herders, however, it was yet to be confirmed who the attackers were.

Following the attack of the deadly attack, residents at Ikereku, Pade, Olanla and Babalola villages now live in fear.

According to the sources, the hoodlums invaded the villages with dangerous weapons like guns.

A lawmaker representing one of the constituencies in Akinyele said three people were killed in his constituency, wards 1 and 2.

It was further gathered that the hoodlums invaded the farmlands of their victims and shot them dead.

The remains of the victims were said to have been picked from a surrounding bush.

The three people who were reportedly felled by the herdsmen were identified as Ope Babalola, Waheed Ganiyu and Yemi Sunday Osuolale.

While confirming the attack, the Oyo State Public Relations Officer, SP Gbenga Fadeyi said some unknown gunmen invaded Olanla village and shot three people.

“Yes, the hoodlums attacked a village Olanla and shot three men. Two of the suspects have been arrested while police detectives have been dispatched to the village to get other suspects arrested”, the police said.
