Following calls from Nigerians for the suspension of the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, President Muhammadu Buhari, has finally bowed to pressure.

Buhari suspended Magu as the acting EFCC Chairman on Tuesday.

Magu was arrested yesterday by the Department of the State Service, DSS, for questioning. Though the force along with EFCC rebutted Magu’s arrest, noting that he was only invited by the Presidential panel for questioning, but the truth remains that Magu was quizzed.

The report said, he was detained after answering questions given to him.

It would be recalled that the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, had written to Buhari, demanding for the sack of Magu over alleged corruption cases linked to him.

Some Nigerians, Coalitions, Unions and Activists, had equally called for Magu’s sack.
