With the impeachment of Simon Achuba as the deputy governor of Kogi state, last year cum immediate appointment of Edward Onoja as the authentic deputy, Federal high court has Thursday quashed the provision which disqualified Achuba.

The Court which described the provision as null and void, however, ruled that the subsequent nomination of Edward Onoja as the state deputy governor did not follow due process and a violation of the constitution.

Recall that Achuba was in October 2019 impeached by the State House of Assembly, over allegation of gross misconduct.
