Imagine sitting in front of your phone, going live on TikTok, and earning millions of naira, even after losing a battle?
Well, that’s exactly what happened to Nigerian TikTok sensation Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller.
He recently made history by hosting the biggest African TikTok Live Stream.
The stream attracts an astonishing 260,000 viewers.
The viral content creator took part in a TikTok Live Battle against King Tiktok, and while he didn’t emerge victorious, his bank account certainly did.
Despite losing the battle, Peller still walked away with a massive amount of earnings.
This proves that on TikTok, engagement and support can be just as rewarding as winning.
During the battle, Peller received an impressive 4.1 million TikTok coins from his loyal fans.
However, his opponent, King Tiktok, raked in even more, securing over 16 million coins and claiming victory.
In total, the battle saw nearly 8 million TikTok coins exchanged, which translates to approximately $145,000 (over ₦200 million).
Out of this, Peller’s earnings amounted to $24,000.
However, as expected, digital platforms took their share.
TikTok deducted 50%, leaving him with $12,500, and PayPal claimed an additional 3% in transaction fees.
Even after these deductions, earning millions of naira from a few hours of livestreaming is still an incredible feat.
