Beyoncé encouraged her fans to head to the polls, channelling actress Pamela Anderson’s iconic roles in Baywatch and Barb Wire in a video shared on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, to coincide with the U.S. presidential election.
In the clip, titled “Beywatch,” the superstar dressed up as Anderson’s well-known characters while performing her Cowboy Carter hit “Bodyguard.”
In one scene, Beyoncé held a toy gun, firing it to reveal a small flag with the word “vote.”
While not an official music video, the clip had the feel of one, marking a rare visual appearance from Beyoncé, who had largely stepped back from traditional music videos in recent years.
Though she did not endorse a specific candidate in the video, Beyoncé is an outspoken supporter of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris
Vice President Harris previously used Beyoncé’s Freedom, her collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, as a campaign anthem, after Beyoncé took legal action to prevent Donald Trump from using the track.
The former Destiny’s Child singer later made a surprise appearance at a Houston campaign rally attended by around 30,000 people.
