
Barcelona and Osasuna have been ordered to play their rescheduled LaLiga match on Thursday,March 27, 2025 after Spain’s football federation rejected appeals from both clubs to postpone the fixture.
The original match was set for Saturday, March 8, 2025, but was postponed due to the death of Barcelona’s club doctor, Carles Minarro Garcia.
The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) initially rescheduled the match for Thursday, March 27, 2025, but both Barcelona and Osasuna appealed the decision.
Barcelona argued that at least six of their players, including Raphinha and Ronald Araujo, would not have sufficient time to rest after returning from international duty.
Osasuna, on the other hand, appealed due to a scheduling conflict, as they have another match against Athletic Bilbao just two days later, on Friday, March 28, 2025.
LaLiga has postponed Osasuna’s match against Athletic Bilbao to March 30. The rescheduled match between Barcelona and Osasuna will go ahead as planned on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
Barcelona currently sits atop the LaLiga standings with 60 points, tied with Real Madrid but with a game in hand.
