Seven years after leaving them for Real Madrid, Gareth Bale has reportedly re-joined Tottenham.

The dynamic Welshman has been heavily linked with a move back to his former club, especially after his agent’s claims the player is keen on a return.

And the Daily Mail reports that Bale’s dream has become a reality, having re-signed for them on a season-long loan deal.

The report states Bale agreed terms on a £13million pay packet, part of which will be financed by Real Madrid.

It’s not clear when Spurs will announce their huge new signing but it’s expected to happen once a few minor contractural issues are resolved.

Bale, who left for a then world-record fee of £85m, will seal an emotional return to Spurs but the Mail’s report claims the move was driven by Jose Mourinho.

Spurs started their Premier League season limply as they were beaten 1-0 by Everton and negotiations were reportedly accelerated following discussions between Mourinho and chairman Daniel Levy.

The Mail says that no other players are expected to go in the other direction.

Dele Alli was linked with a Bernabeu move amid the Bale rumours, while Spurs are also expected to complete the signing of left-back Sergio Reguilon – the Madrid star understood to be having a medical at Spurs’ training ground.

Mourinho had distanced himself from reports linking Bale with a Spurs return but the Portuguese admitted he’s a huge admirer of him.
