The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Thursday, September 26, 2024, approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development Sub-Committee for Coach Augustine Eguavoen, the Federation’s Technical Director, to continue as Head Coach of the Super Eagles.
Eguavoen will lead the team in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Libya next month.
He has previously managed the Super Eagles on three occasions, guided the team to a 3-0 victory over Benin Republic and a goalless draw with Rwanda in Matchdays 1 and 2 earlier this month.
Eguavoen, along with his current technical staff—Fidelis Ilechukwu, Daniel Ogunmodede, Olatunji Baruwa, and Tomaz Zorec—will also oversee the Super Eagles B team during their qualifying campaign for next year’s African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Following the departure of Randy Waldrum, the NFF Executive Committee also approved the recommendation for Coach Justin Madugu to lead the remaining technical crew and take charge of the Senior Women’s National Team, the Super Falcons, until a permanent Head Coach is appointed.
The Super Falcons’ next major tournament will be the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations finals, which will take place in Morocco in the summer of next year.
