
The Grammy-winning singer, Angelique Kidjo known for her powerful voice and electric stage presence, will soon become the first African artiste ever to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
This is more than just an award it’s a proud moment for Africa and a celebration of a career that has inspired generations across the world.
The announcement came from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce as part of the 2026 class of honorees.
Angelique Kidjo will be standing alongside some of the biggest global stars, including American pop icon Miley Cyrus, rising French actor Timothée Chalamet, and basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal.
Also joining the list are Filipino powerhouse vocalist Lea Salonga, celebrated French actress Marion Cotillard, Bollywood star Deepika Padukone, British talent Emily Blunt, and Canadian actress Rachel McAdams.
The honorees have up to two years to schedule their star ceremonies, even though officials haven’t set a date for Angelique’s induction yet.
