Hollywood star, Angelina Jolie’s zombie version Fatemeh Khishvand, 22, who goes by the name Sahar Tabar, is currently on a ventilator in hospital after contracting coronavirus COVID-19 in Iran prison.

Tabar is currently in prison for alleged cultural crimes, social and moral corruptions in Iran.

However, her lawyers have asked for her to be released because of the severity of the outbreak. She is now said to be gravely ill in hospital.

Payam Derafshan, a human rights lawyer, told the Center for Human Rights in Iran: ‘We find it unacceptable that this young woman has now caught the coronavirus in these circumstances while her detention order has been extended during all this time in jail.’

Last month Iran released 85,000 inmates as the country struggles to handle the large number of coronavirus cases. Mr Derafshan said that it was a habit of authorities of denying everything after officials said she had not caught the disease.

He said: ‘it makes no sense to deny this. The prison director should acknowledge the infection and admit she has been hospitalised.’

Iran has reported nearly 5,000 deaths from coronavirus, but the true toll is said to be much higher because that only includes hospital deaths.

Tabar was taken into custody in August and faced charges of blasphemy, inciting violence, gaining income through inappropriate means and encouraging youths to corruption, according to an Iranian news agency.

A parliamentary report released earlier this week said the coronavirus death toll might be almost double the figures announced by the health ministry, and the number of infections eight to 10 times more, given a lack of widespread testing.

Most of the photos and videos shared with her followers have also been heavily edited so that she seemingly resembles Hollywood star Angelina Jolie.

The account features images of her with a gaunt face, pouting lips and sharply turned-up nose. In some, she can be seen wearing a loosely fitting hijab over her hair and a white bandage on her nose commonly seen on Tehran’s streets.

Cosmetic surgery is hugely popular in the Islamic republic, with tens of thousands of operations taking place each year.

After revealing her new look she was mocked for looking more like a zombie than Angelina Jolie. Other pictures revealed that, while she has had plastic surgery, she is actually just very good with make-up and Photoshop.

Instagram is the only major social media service accessible in Iran, unlike Facebook and Twitter and the Telegram messenger service are officially banned.
