The Super Eagles encountered an unexpected ordeal in Libya, bringing forward a worry it could be instrumental to the outcome of the game.
They are set to play the second leg of their AFCON 2025 Qualifier.
This is coming after defeating Libya 1-0 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Friday, October 11.
Both teams are scheduled to meet again for their fourth Group D clash in Benina, Libya.
The Nigerian squad departed for the North African nation on Sunday, October 13.
However, things took a frustrating turn when their chartered flight was unexpectedly diverted to Al Abraq.
Tnis is a city over two hours away by road from their intended destination.
According to Promise Efoghe, the Super Eagles’ media officer, upon arrival in Al Abraq, the team was met with another challenge.

Also, the Libyan authorities failed to provide transportation for the Nigerian players and officials to make their way to Benghazi.
This left the team stranded at the airport with no immediate means to reach their destination.
In response, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) was forced to scramble for alternative transport arrangements amid growing frustrations with the Libyan hosts.
The Super Eagles, along with their officials, will now make the long and arduous journey to Benghazi by road.
Videos released by the NFF late Sunday night show Nigerian players and officials attempting to resolve the situation at the Libyan airport.
However, tensions seemed to rise, as the airport gate was reportedly locked.
Also, this prevents the team from further movement.

Speculation has arisen that this move by the Libyan authorities may be a deliberate attempt to frustrate and exhaust the Super Eagles before their crucial match.
But it could become a source of motivation to win to the Eagles.
