Popular Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has addressed the backlash trailing a cryptic post she shared on Instagram.
Shortly after Biola Bayo confirmed her separation from husband Oluseyi, Laide posted a dance video on Instagram, accompanied by a caption that read:
“All of us will eat breakfast. Asiko lo ma ya to. Good morning people.”
The phrase “everyone will eat breakfast” is Nigerian slang often used to refer to heartbreak or failed relationships.
This lead many to believe she was mocking Biola’s situation.
Also, the post quickly drew criticism from netizens who accused Laide of insensitivity.
However, Laide Bakare has now cleared the air.
In a video posted on Friday, she dismissed the claims and insisted it was a pure coincidence.
She stated that she was unaware of Biola Bayo’s announcement at the time.
“Bad commenters and trolls associations, something must be wrong with you,” she said.
“Let us all be guided, please. It’s still June 5th here in California, and I can never shade my own sister, Biola Bayo. My prayers are with you. I didn’t get any updates because I was busy with my daughter’s graduation. Trolls are evil.”

Laide Bakare expressed her full support for Biola and extended prayers to her during this difficult time, while urging online critics to stop jumping to conclusions.
