Two families in Abuja will be in jubilation now, having escaped the ransom demand of kidnappers that filters away people’s hard-earned money. Their experience of Abuja kidnapping is now a different one.
On Mondy, reports spread that the FCT Police Command’s anti-kidnapping unit rescued two female victims, Mart Ojadi, 15, and Evelyn Chinaza, 12.
They were kidnapped by gunmen in Guto village, Bwari, on June 30, 2024.
This was made known in a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, on Sunday.
Giving update on Abuja kidnapping, Adeh disclosed that the police made the rescue in collaboration with DSS officials.
According to him, the kidnappers were tracked to Gauraka Forest in Niger State.
Afterwards, they engaged them in a fierce gun battle, forcing the criminals to flee with injuries.
Furthermore, the victims were rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with their families.

The statement read: “In response to the sudden attack by unknown gunmen in Guto village, Bwari, earlier today, June 30, 2024, at about 01:30 p.m.
“Where two female victims, Mart Ojadi, 15 years old, and Evelyn Chinaza, 12 years old, were kidnapped and forcefully taken to an unknown location.
“The operatives of the FCT police command from the anti-kidnapping unit swiftly mobilised to the scene.
“Displaying remarkable bravery, the police, in synergy with DSS officials, trailed and advanced on the assailant”.
According to him, the kidnappers were tactically ambushed at Gauraka Forest, Niger State, a location bordering FCT.
