Three Abuja Farmers Remanded For Attempted Kidnap

An Upper Area Court, Gwagwalada, Abuja, has remanded three farmers in a correctional centre for alleged kidnapping.

The men, Aminu Usman, 26, Umar Salisu, 25, and Usman Umar, 20; were charged with criminal conspiracy and kidnapping.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Judge, Abdullahi Abdulkarim, adjourned the case until March 15, for hearing, pending the advice of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Prosecution Counsel, Dabo Yakubu, told the court that the complainant, Aminu Ali, reported the matter at Area Command, Gwagwalada on January 8.

He said that the defendants conspired to kidnapped one Fatima Bello to an unknown destination on the said date.

He said the offence contravened the provision of Sections 97 and 271 of the Penal Code.
