Three persons from the vigilante team of the Adamawa state Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri have reportedly died in a car crash.
The vigilante team was accompanying the governor to a campaign engagement when the crash happened.
The crash had happened while the team, seated in a RAMP 2 Toyota Hilux van used by the head of the governor’s vigilante had allegedly been overspeeding while approaching a dangerous bend in Fadamareke, Hong local government.
Bodies of Bako Kaura, the head of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) informal security arm, his son, and one other have been deposited at the mortuary of Hong Federal Medical Centre.
About 5 other victims in the van were said to have sustained injuries of various degrees and had been taken to a health facility for treatment.
The governor’s physician, Dr. William Teri, was among the first responders at the scene and he also helped to convey the injured to the hospital.
Last week, Governor Fintiri’s stationary motorcade was also rammed into by a truck crushing two vehicles and injuring two policemen in the process.
