The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) nabbed a widow at Lagos Airport with cocaine concealed in footwear.
The 56-year-old widow was arrested by operatives of the NDLEA at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
The NDLEA revealed that, ” A 56-year-old widow and mother of four, Mrs. Ajisegiri Kehinde Sidika has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos over her attempt to traffic 400grams of cocaine concealed in her footwear to Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
“The suspect who claims to be a businesswoman trading in adults and children’s wears on Lagos island was intercepted on Sunday 13 November while trying to board a Qatar Airways flight going to Saudi Arabia via Doha. Upon a critical examination of the pair of sandals she was wearing, two parcels of cocaine weighing 400grams were recovered from them.”
The NDLEA also arrested a tricycle part seller, Ayoade Kehinde Tayo, while attempting to send 1kg of Tramadol and 225mg of Rohypnol to Istanbul, Turkey.
His plans to hand over the drugs to an intending passenger, Idowu Ayoade, were foiled by the agency.
The agency also intercepted the trafficking of 1.10kg of Cannabis concealed in foodstuffs and body lotion, and some Rohypnol capsules found with an intending passenger, Agbamuche Bright Nkeonye and his accomplice; Adeoye Oluwakemi Fatimo.
