President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission, Prof. Armstrong Idachaba.
The president approved the appointment of Balarabe Shehu Ilelah as Idachaba’s replacement on Friday.

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, announced the appointment in a statement issued in Abuja.
He said Ilelah’s appointment is to run for a tenure of five years.
Recall that Idachaba recently issued a directive to all broadcasting stations in Nigeria to discontinue the use of microblogging platform, Twitter, following its suspension by the Ministry of Information and Culture .
