Rangers International FC of Enugu players say they are optimistic of picking the three points against Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) FC in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) encounter on Sunday.
Rangers will be visiting Lagos for their match day 23 of the ongoing NPFL against MFM.
Rangers had earlier lost 0-1 to MFM in their first defeat at home in the ongoing domestic league.
Some of the players who spoke to newsmen in Enugu on Thursday said they were going to Lagos to retaliate.
Chiamaka Madu described the match as a “grudge match’’, adding that Rangers would fight to pay MFM in their own coins.
“MFM was the first club that defeated us at home, and considering our position on the log, we are going for the three points.
“We do not want to know where the match will take place, but we need the maximum points.
“Though MFM will be a hard nut to crack, we well prepared for them, and come Sunday, we are going to smile home with the points at stake,” Madu said.
He said that the technical crew of the club had been working on the players with the tactics needed for a successful outcome in Lagos.

“I believe that with the preparation we have had, we are going to sing a victory song in Lagos after the match,” the player said.
Another player, Tope Olusesi, said his team mates were in high spirit with their 2-0 win over Adamawa United in the match day 22 game played in Enugu.
“Sunday’s match against MFM is very crucial for us as players because we need to pay them back in their own coins.
“Now, it is time for us to go there and pick our own maximum points before their fans.
“We the players have already motivated ourselves by talking to ourselves on the benefit we stand to gain if we pick another continental ticket at the end of the season.
“The position we are in the league is not good for a club like Rangers, so we are determined to climb to a respectable position,” Olusesi said.
He assured the club fans that they would do all in their capacity to give them continental matches next season by picking one of the slots. (NAN)
