Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina has secured a historic second-place finish at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant, thrilling fans and supporters worldwide.

The 23-year-old beauty queen emerged as the first runner-up after competing against finalists from countries such as Mexico, Thailand, Venezuela, Argentina, and Canada.

Miss Denmark claimed the crown, while Chidimma’s remarkable performance earned her the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, marking a major achievement for Nigeria.

This success is particularly significant, considering the fierce competition from countries with a strong history of success in the pageant.

Before her victory in Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma was at the centre of controversy, notably dropping out of the Miss South Africa 2024 pageant due to allegations of identity theft.

She later entered the Miss Universe Nigeria competition as Miss Taraba, defeating competitors from other states, including Miss Anambra Paula Ezendu, Miss Edo Edeifo Brittany, Miss Ondo Ayegbidun Peace Olamide, and Miss Rivers Nyekachi Douglas.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Chidimma expressed her gratitude to the Silverbird Group for helping turn her dream into a reality.

Additionally, she is serving as the brand ambassador for Enugu State, an honour she announced on October 10, 2024, thanking Governor Dr. Peter Ndubisi Mbah for the recognition.
