Former Arsenal star, Martin Keown has identified forward, Gabriel Martinelli as the outstanding player following the Gunners’ 2-2 draw with Chelsea in the Premier League on Tuesday night.
According to Keown, Martinelli was the shining light of the encounter at Stamford Bridge, adding that he was willing to get back and help his teammates.
Arsenal were a man down before the half hour mark, after David Luiz was sent off.
Jorginho made it 1-0 from the penalty spot, before Gabriel Martinelli ran through to equalize.
Hector Bellerin equalised three minutes after opposing captain Cesar Azpilicueta, thinking he had claimed a victory for the Blues.
“Martinelli is a shining light. He’s been outstanding,” Keown told BT Sport.
“The composure is brilliant. He’s happy to do the work. So many players don’t want to run.
“I know it’s not a night for contrasts but Nicolas Pepe is on the other side not quite working in the same way.
“I think that [Pepe] is a work in progress and can be much better. If we were to compare the distances they’ve compared and high intensity runs.
“Martinelli is willing to get back and help out.”
