The Football Association has charged Wolves sporting director Matt Hobbs with misconduct following an incident after Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City.

The controversy surrounds John Stones’ injury-time winner, initially disallowed for offside before being awarded by referee Chris Kavanagh.

The FA has requested observations from Wolves manager Gary O’Neil regarding his post-match comments about the officials.

Additionally, Hobbs has been accused of improper conduct and abusive language toward match officials near the tunnel after the final whistle

Hobbs must respond by Monday, October 28, 204, This  is the second misconduct charge against him within a year.

In November 2023, he received a one-game stadium suspension and £4,000 fine for using improper language toward a match official.

The incident occurred during a 2-2 draw with Newcastle at Molineux, where Hobbs disputed a penalty awarded to Newcastle.
