After several back and forth, the big day for residents and citizens of Rivers State has come.
As we speak, voters have gathered in various polling units to cast their votes in the Local Government Council Elections.
As a matter of fact, voting has officially commenced in the Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The electoral process began at 8:30 am at Unit 3, 025, Ward 4, NlMgbueto Community, as electoral officers arrived to facilitate the voting.
So far, the voting process has been peaceful, with no police or security operatives in sight, creating an environment of calm during the elections.
Peaceful Election
Omenihu Jackson, the Councillorship Candidate for the Action Peoples Party (APP), expressed satisfaction with the electoral process after casting his vote.

He stated: “The election has been peaceful. People are conducting themselves well, and the process is going on smoothly.”
Similarly, Collins Amesi, the leader of the ward, echoed Jackson’s sentiments.
He expressed confidence in the election’s integrity.
His words: “You can see that the election is going on well without police. We commend the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) for conducting this peaceful process.”
However, Amesi also noted that the lack of police presence raised concerns about the credibility of the election.
