As lamentation in Anambra state over delay in salary payment mounts the state government is making attempts to set the records straight.
A top government official in the state, Christian Udechukwu, said on national television that Governor Chukwuma Soludo did not owe workers any salaries.
He highlighted Soludo’s focus on supporting the community despite economic challenges.
Christian Udechukwu is Anambra State’s Commissioner for Industry, and he was a guest on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.
Addressing concerns about Anambra workers’ unpaid salaries, Udechukwu assured viewers that Governor Chukwuma Soludo is current with all wage payments.
Udechukwu praised Soludo for his dedication to easing economic pressures on the people.
Despite Nigeria’s recent economic strains, marked by production and power generation issues, transportation and food costs have risen.
Udechukwu stressed that the governor remained focused on supporting his citizens.
He noted that stability in petrol supply could help stabilise prices, reducing the high costs of transport and food.
The commissioner highlighted the Anambra government’s initiatives.
These include free primary and secondary education.
Funds For Community Benefits
The government is also working on efforts to ensure safe mobility for residents.
Udechukwu also mentioned the government’s financial management strategies, which channel funds back into community benefits.
Furthermore, he outlined programs for youth development, including a one to two-year skills acquisition program.
This programme benefits over 5,000 young people, who receive ₦400,000 upon completion.

Additionally, the state has trained 20,000 youths through the Solution Innovation District, in collaboration with Microsoft and other tech companies.
This initiative aims to equip young people with valuable skills and open up new opportunities in the tech sector.
Also, Governor Soludo’s administration is focusing on education, economic support, and youth training.
It is working to build a more resilient and prosperous community despite the national economic difficulties.
