Visual artist Dr. Fola David has broken the Guinness World Record for the largest drawing by an individual.
His project, titled ‘Unity in Diversity’, was created over six days from July 16 to July 21, 2024, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena (formerly Onikan Stadium) in Lagos.
On Day 4, at 9 p.m., Dr. David surpassed the previous record of 629.98 square meters, setting a new world record of 1,000 square meters on the final day, Sunday, July 21, 2024.
Supported by the Tolaram Group and the Lagos State government, the project has drawn attention from many supporters, including Honourable Commissioner of Youth of Lagos State Mobolaji Abubakre Ogunlende, Ogun State Commissioner of Sports Hon. Wasiu Isiaka, Oluwadolarz, Oyo State Governor’s Executive Adviser Seun Fakorede, Qing Madi, Kenny Blaq, Dremo, Pretty Mike, and others who came to show their support.
He was presented with a Certificate of Achievement by the National Gallery of Art (NGA) in recognition of his landmark achievement.
