500,000 Nigerian students benefit from free MTN data
As at September 2020, no fewer than 500,000 students were utilising MTN Nigeria, daily free access of 500mb data offer.

The network provider Chief Marketing Officer, Rahul De disclosed this to newsmen in Lagos on Friday.

He that the network provider was committed to continuing supporting e-learning and offering assistance to the education sector in the country.

It would be recalled that in June, MTN Nigeria, began a free data offer; enabling primary and secondary school students to access educational contents.

De noted that education was vital to the growth and development of any country.

He said that as of September, more than 500,000 students were utilising the daily free access of 500mb data offer.

“MTN remains committed to supporting learning.

“We are humbled at how well the offer has been received and hope students and parents will continue to take advantage of the opportunity to learn and shine.

“We understand the challenges everyone is going through in this period and commitment to helping wherever we can,” De said in a statement.

He recalled the closure of schools to mitigate further spread of COVID-19.

De said the intervention was done in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education and allowing primary and secondary school students access to virtual lessons and preparation for examinations.

He, however, said that the resources available covered all primary and secondary school subjects and more than 10 years of past questions from key examinations like the First School Leaving Certificate and West African Secondary School Certificate examinations.

Others are Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination as well as access to learning portals such as Pass.ng, Roducate, mAcademy and Edo State SUBEB.
