Veteran Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, has publicly apologised for his recent controversial statement suggesting that men are not sexually wired to remain committed to one woman.
The comment was made during an appearance on Nedu Wazobia’s podcast.
This sparked a wave of outrage online.
Many Nigerians accused the singer of promoting infidelity under the guise of “male nature.”
In response to the backlash, 2Face shared an emotional video on Instagram,
He takes full responsibility for his words and acknowledging the gravity of their impact.
“I know I fcked up with what I said. I really, really fcked up the way I said it. I’m going to pay a heavy price and face the consequences,” he admitted.
He clarified that his intention was not to excuse bad behaviour, but to offer insight into human imperfections
“Maybe I didn’t say it appropriately. I own up to my mistake. But one thing I know for sure is, I’m sorry — especially to my wife, Natasha. Calling me a legend is an honour, but this my talk was quite unlegendary.”
The 49-year-old singer also expressed gratitude for the public’s reaction.

He stated it helped him realise the weight his words carry and the level of admiration people have for him.
“The amount of response I got made me see how much people love and respect me. To now use stupid statements to cancel everything? That’s not who I am. I’m sorry.”
