President Bola Tinubu has been endorsed as as sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election by the Progressive Governors Forum at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Summit held in Abuja.
The endorsement, which was moved by Gov. Hope Uzodimma of Imo and Chairman of the forum Chairman, was seconded by Gov. Uba Sani of Kaduna State.
Also, Uzodimma, who spoke on behalf of the forum, emphasised commitment to mobilising resources and ensuring victory for Tinubu in their respective states.
The governors expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and reforms, promising to deliver their states in the upcoming elections.
In addition, this endorsement follows similar moves by other APC regional leaders, including the North Central governors who recently passed a vote of confidence in Tinubu’s administration, praising his developmental strides and inclusive governance approach.
Furthermore, Nigerian Senate President, Godswill Akpabio showed his support for President Tinubu by emphasising that only the National Assembly has the constitutional authority to pass resolutions with the force of law, reinforcing the importance of legislative backing for the president’s policies.

In addition, he called on fellow lawmakers to continue supporting Tinubu, saying the voice of the legislature is key in validating the president’s performance.
In a humorous aside, Akpabio revealed that a senator from the Labour Party privately expressed a desire to join the APC, suggesting that Tinubu’s leadership is attracting even opposition figures.
