Bolaji Ogunmola Slams Airline Over 24-hour Delay That Stalled ₦20m Film Production

In a video shared on Instagram, Bolaji Ogunmola detailed how repeated flight delays, cancellations and constant rescheduling disrupted her plans and left her emotionally distressed.

According to the filmmaker, she had crucial arrangements in place for the first day of shooting.

These includes actors, locations and catering, all of which were affected by the airline’s failure to transport her to Lagos as scheduled.

I’m still at the airport, and I’ve cried my eyes out. I’m in Ekiti, and I’m supposed to be on set this morning. It’s the first day of production. I have actors on set. I booked a restaurant. I booked everything. I spent between ₦15 million and ₦20 million trying to produce this film,” she said.

Ogunmola explained that she arrived at the airport on Wednesday for her flight to Lagos but was first informed of a delay before the airline eventually cancelled the flight entirely, forcing her to remain stranded overnight.

I was told the flight was delayed. I waited and waited, then they cancelled it. I asked what the plan was because I needed to get to Lagos,” she recounted.

She further revealed that the rescheduled flight kept changing times the following morning.

The time moves from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., then to 12:00 p.m., and later to 5:30 p.m.

However, this makes it impossible for her to be present on set.

Expressing her frustration, the actress criticised the airline’s lack of communication and accountability.

Also, she noted that her entire production crew was already on set waiting for her arrival.

This is not just my time they are playing with; it’s my livelihood. My crew is already on set. There’s no proper conversation. Everyone just keeps saying sorry. What am I supposed to do? I’m literally stuck,” she lamented.

How She Got To Lagos

Bolaji Ogunmola disclosed that she had no choice but to travel by road, despite safety concerns.

This is in order to make it to her Lagos production set. She also revealed plans to take legal action against the airline.

I have to go by road, which is very unsafe, but I need to get to work. My lawyers will take this up. I just needed evidence of what was going on. They are not remorseful, and they are unfair,” she stated.

The filmmaker clarified that her decision to speak out was not to stir controversy but to document her experience for legal purposes.
