Nollywood powerhouse Funke Akindele has officially announced that her latest movie, Behind The Scenes, will be hitting cinemas across the United States on January 9, 2026, marking another major milestone for Nigerian cinema on the global stage.
The actress, filmmaker, and producer made the announcement via her official social media page, urging fans in the United States to “stand up” and get ready for what she described as “the movie of the season.”
The post was accompanied by a vibrant promotional poster featuring the star-studded cast against an iconic U.S. backdrop, further highlighting the film’s international reach.
Behind The Scenes is distributed by FilmOne Entertainment in partnership with FAN, continuing Akindele’s strong working relationship with major distribution platforms that have helped push Nollywood titles beyond African borders.
The film is expected to build on the massive success of her previous projects, many of which have broken box office records and drawn large audiences both locally and internationally.
In the U.K. and Ireland, Behind The Scenes has already shown in selected cinemas, including various Odeon locations.
