Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has once again made history after her latest project, Behind The Scenes, crossed the ₦1.1 billion mark at the Nigerian box office.
According to figures verified as of Monday, December 29, 2025, the film has grossed a total of ₦1,109,463,846, further cementing Akindele’s position as the highest-grossing producer in Nollywood history.
The milestone was announced by FilmOne Entertainment via its official Instagram page.
With this achievement, Behind The Scenes has set several new records.
It is now the fastest film in West Africa to reach ₦1 billion, achieving the feat in just 19 days. The movie also stands as the highest-grossing Nollywood release of 2025 and holds the record for the highest single-day box office gross, earning ₦129.5 million on Boxing Day.
The success also places Funke Akindele in a league of her own, making her the first filmmaker to deliver three consecutive ₦1 billion films within a single calendar year, and the only director to cross the ₦1 billion box office mark three times.
Reacting to the milestone, Funke Akindele expressed gratitude to her fans and collaborators, acknowledging their role in the film’s success.
She thanked God, her supporters, distributors, colleagues, and the cast and crew, describing the achievement as “only the beginning” and encouraging more families to come out and watch the movie.
