Global Expansion

In particular, Nigeria stands out because Starlink became the country’s second-largest ISP by Q3 2024, just behind the oldest provider, Spectranet.

The company officially launched the service in Nigeria in January 2023, after the Nigerian Communications Commission granted its ISP licence in May 2022.

By Q3 2024, Starlink had attracted over 65,000 Nigerian customers, and by Q2 2025, it had grown to 66,500, maintaining its strong position.

Rapid Growth

Globally, Starlink grew rapidly, climbing from 4.6 million users in December 2024 to 7 million by August 2025, and reaching 9 million today.

In addition, web traffic from Starlink users more than doubled in 2025, indicating that customers rely heavily on the satellite service.

Starlink also drives SpaceX’s revenue, surpassing income from rocket launches, and plays a central role in the company’s financial strategy.

In Nigeria, Starlink helps bridge broadband gaps, supporting businesses, startups, and remote workers who need fast and reliable internet.

Across Africa, Starlink’s direct-to-cell technology closes connectivity gaps and transforms how people communicate in remote regions.
